TechvoteIndia is intended as a free and public resource to be used by political candidates and grassroots to interact and to enhance the quality of dialogue, discussion, messaging, and feedback, and to enrich the process of 21st century democracy in India.

TechvoteIndia brings to our users unique expertise of scientific election and campaign management over 20 years, gathered via implementing national campaigns in India and the United States. An initiative of The Imagindia Institute , TechvoteIndia benefits from the unique experiences of its principal architect, Mr. Robinder Sachdev.

Mr. Sachdev was the first professional political consultant in India to use technology extensively for purposes of election management. In 1989, Mr. Sachdev conceptualized and set up arguably the first BPO in India – with a staff of 80 people, working round the clock on 40 computer systems. The database and MIS systems created by him were used by the All India Congress Committee for its candidate selection in 1989 parliamentary elections – the databases and analyses included constituency data; political leader data; election material management; and media tracking; amongst others.

Mr. Sachdev went on to work at the Prime Minister House, as an assistant to Mr. Rajiv Gandhi, the then Prime Minister of India, and designed intelligent systems for a range of state elections, plus also for creative writing. Thereafter, again in 1996, for the general elections in India, Mr. Sachdev provided complete legal advisory to the Congress party for compliance with model code of conduct, and led a team of legal and para-legal experts. Over a million booklets about campaign management, “train-the-trainer” videos, and other such advisory were disseminated based upon the services provided and led by Mr. Sachdev.

Over the past decade, Mr. Sachdev worked in the technology sector in the U.S. in Washington, D.C., and in addition to his day job, he co-founded the India lobby in the United States. In order to seed and grow the India lobby in the U.S., he extensively leveraged technology and communication practices. His ability to mobilize and influence public opinion in the United States, using technology and smart communications, is acknowledged by leading media in the U.S. and India – including in November 2007 by Business & Economy, which featured Mr. Sachdev as one of the 12 most influential Indian Americans, along with Bobby Jindal, Jagdish Bhagwati, Fareed Zakaria, Sanjay Puri, etc.

Imagindia is a clear and independent voice in public and economic diplomacy across cultures – with prominent partnerships, across U.S., Europe, and Asia. While Imagindia continues to work towards promoting the imagination of India amongst the Indian Diasporas in global communities by leveraging technology and communication strategies, the creative team at TechvoteIndia now endeavors to stimulate and enrich the democratic process in India via this compendium. Happy reading!
